How i got started! (CLICK TO EXPAND THIS SECTION) [15/05 04:40PM]

Well, it was quite easy really. As i said in my into i just paid a £500 deposit and selected the apartment i wanted to buy. I did get rather carried away and went from looking for a two bedroom ground floor to a two bedroom 4th floor and the costs go up the higher you go but hay whats a few thousand euros when you have gone a little mad!

I went through a company www.islacanela.co.uk, now called Sunshine homes.

Patricia Ellis was the founder of the company. They were and still are, i believe, based in Colchester in the UK. The admin team sent me plans of the new build, Los Gavilanes, when they were launched and i simply had to select one from the plans.

(Patricia Ellis, left)

It was quite hard to imagine the apartment block, so i found it difficult to work out which apartment to have but after hours or looking at the paper from all different angles i selected mine on the 4th floor.

A few weeks later we went to Isla Canela and saw the plot of dust...I joke not!

I wasnt that concerned, as friends had bought quite succesfuly from the company but  i thought it would be best to contact a solictor.  So i spoke with Gloria Crespo Dias, based in Huelva ( i will post a photo soon)

Gloria spoke perfect English and was easy to deal with throughout.

Patricia and her team did everything. They even set up a bank account for me in Spain and arranged all the police checks etc io order for me to get a mortgage.

I was very excited by the idea of my new home in the sun but still very unsure what it would look like and more importantly if i would be able to see the sea from my, now 4th floor, terrace.

I WAS VERY LUKCY WITH THIS PURCHASE. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUYING MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND CONTACT A SOLICTOR!! :)
